In an age of uncertainty and complexity, self-care is paramount.  To effectively serve the needs of their organization, HR professionals must ensure their personal tank is full.  Those attending this presentation will identify four key connections that must exist to be resilient.  Additionally, you will discover four useful practices for safeguarding your mental health.

John Thomas has been addressing audiences in an inspiring and engaging manner for more than 25 years. John is an experienced human resources leader with a demonstrated history of working in government administration, higher education and the healthcare industries. He is well versed in leadership development, team building,  and executive coaching. He currently serves as the Chief People Officer for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

Prior to that, John worked as a Senior Human Resources Consultant for the University of Missouri System in Columbia, MO.  Additionally, he works as an independent consultant, working with organizations  on issues of employee engagement, leadership development, organizational climate and culture and various professional development opportunities. From 2005-2013 John served as an assistant football coach at Truman State University.

John is a dedicated human resources professional with a Master of Arts focused in Organizational Leadership.  Regardless of the audience, his goal is to enrich, encourage, and elevate the lives of every individual with whom he interacts.
