As companies face today’s labor shortages and ever-increasing competition for niche skills, employers are rethinking how they can leverage total rewards programs to attract, retain and motivate their workforce. Time off programs play an important part of the total rewards package, and associated work/life programs greatly impact the employee experience.

To stay abreast of the ever-changing market and strategies that employers deploy to attract and retain talent, Lockton conducted an analysis of more than 1,200 organizations’ time off and workplace flexibility programs in practice. Results showed that 42% of employers have revised their time off programs while indicating that employers are taking a more proactive, strategic approach to aligning these programs with their organization’s culture to meet the shifting workforce needs and enhance employees’ experiences along their journey.
